Effective January 1, 2014, commercial and industrial CIDs ceased to be part of the Davis-Stirling Act and were moved under a new Act, the Commercial and Industrial Common Interest Development Act ("Commercial CID Act").

Commercial and Industrial CIDs include condominium projects, planned developments and stock cooperatives.

In many ways, the Commercial CID Act parallels Davis-Stirling but varies significantly when it comes to consumer protection provisions.

Mixed use projects that include both commercial and residential elements continue to be governed by the Davis-Stirling Act.

If you have questions about the Act, please send me an email.
